Besos Yaima.

Can Someone Help Me Translate This?
This poem is in the book NOX by Anne Carson, but I can’t translate it (It’s in Latin). I love to read it, but I’d like to know what it means in english. Help?
Here is the Poem (I don’t even know the title!):
Multas per gentes et multa per aequora vectus
advento has miseras, frater, ad inferias
ut te postremo donarem munere mortis
et mutam nequiquam alloquerer cinerem.
quandoquidem fortuna mihi tete abstulit ipsum,
heu miser indigne frater adempte mihi,
nunc tamen interea haec, prisco quae more parentum
tradita sunt tristi munere ad inferias,
accipe fraterno multum manantia fletu
atque atque in perpetuum, frater, ave atque vale.
Can anyone help? Thank you in advance!
Studying European Languages?
I would love to study English, German, and French. I know that it can be done, but is it realistic? Would it be too much work for a person? I’m also considering throwing Spanish in there, but I’m just afraid I will be extremely overworked and will give up. Of course, they wouldn’t all be majors. I might would make one a minor, or just study one simply for fun. I’m very interested in European languages, so is there something else that might capture my interest?
My other question is a bit off topic, but is it possible to study musical theatre without actually having to perform in a show?
Thank you.
